This one was knit with <a href="https://www.simplysockyarn.com/malabrigo-rios/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA98WrBhAYEiwA2WvhOoDyqX-ODPhrslERm1RoAH56gCmZm5_VYQDvmkUoOolDEM8hF-bsDxoCPrYQAvD_BwE&page=1">Malabrigo Rios Yarn</a> in the color Reflecting Pool. I'm not sure where I bought it. It's very nice! I used about 1.5 skeins.</p><p>The needle size was US 7, and it is knit in the <a href="https://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archives/2006/10/12/one_row_handspun_scarf.html">Yarn Harlot's one row pattern </a>(cast on a multiple of four +2, knit two, knit one through back loop, purl and repeat until there are two stitches left - knit those.</p><p>I finished in January of 2024. It was mainly knit in movies because it's an easy pattern to knit in the dark. I'm not sure when I started it, but it was after the Quince scarf, which was after the stacking, not stacking cowl. </p><p>Here's the weird thing. I have two more skeins of this yarn. Did I buy it twice? I think I must have. What will I do with the other two skeins? I don't need another scarf made out of this yarn, as much as I like it.</p><p><i><a href="https://mom4gj.blogspot.com/2023/12/reflecting-pool-scarf.html">Another post about this scarf</a></i></p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-61422439381481735122024-01-22T07:00:00.001-05:002024-01-22T07:00:00.162-05:00On my needles<p> In this post, I talked about yarn I have that is "in the wings," waiting to be knitted. This was one of them:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB1E54UnCzIlwUWeumzj_tvtTem7wvzTUVQzdPOOZxAmJozuWFwlg3heHD7G9YllO6z8Ua7R0FtIc5aQ-6rpat2hP5iDWkHG3seRQbNFvLc3SZynyalxVqAuY99LYgY60wkIbCG20jenw_cWUzAEq3VTN8Hkd0boBes75SkVnOiC0PaKDULpI6/s621/Las%20vegas%20yarn.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="466" data-original-width="621" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB1E54UnCzIlwUWeumzj_tvtTem7wvzTUVQzdPOOZxAmJozuWFwlg3heHD7G9YllO6z8Ua7R0FtIc5aQ-6rpat2hP5iDWkHG3seRQbNFvLc3SZynyalxVqAuY99LYgY60wkIbCG20jenw_cWUzAEq3VTN8Hkd0boBes75SkVnOiC0PaKDULpI6/s320/Las%20vegas%20yarn.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>It's Roll the Dice yarn from Sin City Yarns. I'm knitting a cowl that the yarn store suggested (free pattern). You cast on 103 stitches on a 24 inch needle (size 7 for me), and then knit 4 and purl 4, repeatedly. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJrWYsrpu0rdsLCKSiFcUxHhnbCDCThq9pnU5B4EysyajiQ3candcJcpe-j5_JpI67fGXIR-u7YuBAsU6StDG7AfXdmWvoRTs0zta_mbNFBvUXFNVxlWliUbYt1wwjOx2lA6uaM9euI0MG8zP3aBmS9h6x_jVQbSPP7Is7FyahbARPeJy1uoC9/s1513/Roll%20the%20dice%20cowl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1134" data-original-width="1513" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJrWYsrpu0rdsLCKSiFcUxHhnbCDCThq9pnU5B4EysyajiQ3candcJcpe-j5_JpI67fGXIR-u7YuBAsU6StDG7AfXdmWvoRTs0zta_mbNFBvUXFNVxlWliUbYt1wwjOx2lA6uaM9euI0MG8zP3aBmS9h6x_jVQbSPP7Is7FyahbARPeJy1uoC9/s320/Roll%20the%20dice%20cowl.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I'm not sure if you can see it in the image, but the stitch pattern creates diagonal ridges of yarn that swirl around the cowl - cool. Also, can you see in the first image that the yarn is lighter toward the middle and gets darker on the outside? The cowl is following that color pattern.</p><p>It takes more concentration that I anticipated, but I do like it, and am enjoying the knitting. I'm anxious to see it when it is finished.</p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-65684946336697978862024-01-15T21:12:00.004-05:002024-01-15T21:12:00.148-05:00Quince Scarf<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-SZEsjPp3eL4_8MM35A0Dz6e8o_S-Dht05Wc9j6HWmiYsquewiQQqdiTskZvCZ_Gur3wyi0nHY8PBGA6jXOidDC8A7jrsyTt-pKnX-n3dxoaHJXgSbsKaO2U1WBhJUYzMCUZomSvnD9KEX1437nbAHm5teY_LAtYP8kPW6JlBwEneLA9GG2Fs/s1051/Quince%20Scarf.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1051" data-original-width="924" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-SZEsjPp3eL4_8MM35A0Dz6e8o_S-Dht05Wc9j6HWmiYsquewiQQqdiTskZvCZ_Gur3wyi0nHY8PBGA6jXOidDC8A7jrsyTt-pKnX-n3dxoaHJXgSbsKaO2U1WBhJUYzMCUZomSvnD9KEX1437nbAHm5teY_LAtYP8kPW6JlBwEneLA9GG2Fs/s320/Quince%20Scarf.jpg" width="281" /></a></div><br />How about another finished object. This one was in a drawer, completely knitted, without the end woven in. I mean, who does that? Me, apparently.<p></p><p>This scarf is knit with <a href="https://mom4gj.blogspot.com/2021/12/yarn-in-wings.html">this yarn. </a> It's Quince & Company's Osprey yarn. It's a heavy (aran) weight wool, and the color is Aleutian. I bought it at <a href="https://www.kcyarncompany.com/">Kanawha City Yarn Company.</a></p><p>I knit the scarf with either US size 8 or 9 needles. My notes say it is knit with the Yarn Harlot's one row "pattern," but it looks like farrow rib to me, so I'm not sure. </p><p>How long did it take me to knit it? Well, at the end of 2021, the yarn was still wound, and I hadn't started. Even though I'm counting it as a finished object in 2024 since that is when I wove in the ends, I don't know when I finished the body of the knitting.</p><p>Really, I need to keep better notes.</p><p>It is soft and squishy, and I like it. </p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-80782034266067920252024-01-15T15:45:00.007-05:002024-01-15T15:45:00.140-05:00Blue Striped Socks<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf7uY_rs5qmKUeY7iKPFte34igPcMuoETg6KnAWtDhYKMCOTO1UQHNWuUy93pUmPJ4XHw6tOzBXP7hybpQ0yL2LXyA1ZzGT0xGo36hyphenhyphenSjg8vMz53PNEOEJeH121pNfF-1ztIlpytz2zcbmfu7XugDWTjoAMeMn15awtlt3_ZXxqyUIlNqWJkdC/s505/Blue%20Striped%20socks.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="505" data-original-width="379" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf7uY_rs5qmKUeY7iKPFte34igPcMuoETg6KnAWtDhYKMCOTO1UQHNWuUy93pUmPJ4XHw6tOzBXP7hybpQ0yL2LXyA1ZzGT0xGo36hyphenhyphenSjg8vMz53PNEOEJeH121pNfF-1ztIlpytz2zcbmfu7XugDWTjoAMeMn15awtlt3_ZXxqyUIlNqWJkdC/w300-h400/Blue%20Striped%20socks.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br />I seem to be a finishing mood, picking up projects and completing them. At least one of them, so far. But I have more plans.<p></p><p>I finished a pair of socks this weekend. The yarn is <a href="https://berroco.com/yarns/berroco-sox">Berroco Sox</a>, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Berroco-Sox-1477-Kingston/dp/B008P2AFVY/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8">color 1477. </a>(Kingston). The color doesn't seem to be on the Berroco web page, and it's no wonder. These have been on needles forever. Today I found a note about these socks that I made on February 1, 2014, so I've been knitting them since before then.</p><p>The socks are knit with the <a href="https://www.yarnharlot.ca/2019/03/three-for-three-or-four/">Yarn Harlot's</a> vanilla sock yarn pattern from <u><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Knitting-Rules-Yarn-Harlots-Tricks/dp/1580178340/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3FP8I5F3AEHHC&keywords=Knitting+rules&qid=1704747168&sprefix=knitting+rules%2Caps%2C84&sr=8-1">Knitting Rules</a></u>. I knit them with a pair of Signature Needle Arts double pointed needles, sized 1. A side note - I'm not sure I've ever mentioned this, but I have two pairs of double pointed needled from this company (which is now closing). They were very expensive, and feel wonderfully luxurious, but I don't like to knit with them. I prefer my wooden needles. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX6ER5osATZMKvz1qqXDAzyPkAS0UYfuqBCLSknvhA9YJmW4AS0Li3yKi_1rcok1GyAB_-FdA-KQ3cpNNhp03cUDjnwzvQGOtVrdoF6-IxwQ1CLvgrIdxxc7IAuqlEzmNvV2qzVM1MKP3ipoK3yxGrxvH74GK1EjOIlceyv9zXkcje77M6P0_v/s755/Blue%20striped%20stocks%20on%20table.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="755" data-original-width="610" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX6ER5osATZMKvz1qqXDAzyPkAS0UYfuqBCLSknvhA9YJmW4AS0Li3yKi_1rcok1GyAB_-FdA-KQ3cpNNhp03cUDjnwzvQGOtVrdoF6-IxwQ1CLvgrIdxxc7IAuqlEzmNvV2qzVM1MKP3ipoK3yxGrxvH74GK1EjOIlceyv9zXkcje77M6P0_v/s320/Blue%20striped%20stocks%20on%20table.jpg" width="259" /></a></div>The yarn is self striping, and I find that very fun and amusing, as the stripes appear as I knit regular stockinette. <div><br /></div><div>I have no idea when I started these socks (other than it was before 2014). I know I did a lot of work on the second sock in early 2020, because I posted pictures in my Instagram account. Apparently, I can't knit socks during a pandemic, because I think they languished on the needles until I picked them up this weekend with on the toe (and a little of the foot) to knit. </div><div><br /></div><div>The problem is that I didn't make any notes about the numbers I used when knitting. I ended up with not only fraternal socks (the stripes do not match up), but also socks of two different sizes. I used two different numbers of stitches to start the socks. It's a great shop - I recommend it. I bought this yarn:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwxbUk0-ND0EjwxhOWI9J6mUo1ywIaBr20MgEQHoQmdcfUG4cI2GEeaZzXiBChzYX7ZUI0zM7ZEEoAOXt4-vT6t8t6_rA91GMB4Ps-1KNu01EoHfE1WdL2s8WvvAns0yeKtcj5Xo8fKudPYn2rWpPtbWArJZrGZQqaEszDj2TmBuzu5ynOKX3B/s1031/Ornament%20Yarn.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1031" data-original-width="773" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwxbUk0-ND0EjwxhOWI9J6mUo1ywIaBr20MgEQHoQmdcfUG4cI2GEeaZzXiBChzYX7ZUI0zM7ZEEoAOXt4-vT6t8t6_rA91GMB4Ps-1KNu01EoHfE1WdL2s8WvvAns0yeKtcj5Xo8fKudPYn2rWpPtbWArJZrGZQqaEszDj2TmBuzu5ynOKX3B/s320/Ornament%20Yarn.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>It's from Socker Mom Fibers (I had already wound two of the tiny skeins). Each one was about 5 grams of yarn or 27 yards, I think (or close to that). The pattern is also from Socker Mom, and it is for tiny Christmas tree ornaments shaped like socks. They had a little tree decorated with them. They also had a kit for a garland made of tiny socks. Adorable. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlMTBDTrHOQYoEwdgg2jor9SqO9i7ekG1T_U_0v6KPEMY2t7d-w9YoTNLboBMmTstFRUCxyfo_1Sck0hFYhnXGIwVqjIpOFdMkTAaU6aXVyFHlSHk6poZyF4OvZQ94cRI2RsNKqgi4_dSKGM9ANhQ06yMS2-nVhUovMTPo13-uPhOgo40gdIuV/s1031/Ornament%20red%20complete.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1031" data-original-width="773" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlMTBDTrHOQYoEwdgg2jor9SqO9i7ekG1T_U_0v6KPEMY2t7d-w9YoTNLboBMmTstFRUCxyfo_1Sck0hFYhnXGIwVqjIpOFdMkTAaU6aXVyFHlSHk6poZyF4OvZQ94cRI2RsNKqgi4_dSKGM9ANhQ06yMS2-nVhUovMTPo13-uPhOgo40gdIuV/s320/Ornament%20red%20complete.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />I loved the yarn. It was slightly overdyed, so there was a variation in color. In the image, you can see it best in the green. I knit the socks with size 0 needles. Tiny. The hanger is created with a crochet chain stitch - hook size D. <p></p><p>I ran out of the house on the way to leave for the weekend with the yarn, pattern, and needles, but no other notions. I had to go to a craft store and pick up darning needles and a crochet hook to finish the socks as they flew off the knitting needles. Not at all prepared. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW5sJAY5jLraYSpvM70F0oF5DaWjpy53Cz7nl5KUMMYclktKsXP2RimzR5N9-XkTHxhuzpU0znDKEdKaJE5LcnmeqH94l9veZGH4GoZLKN1TRtl-N2Q4LwCK5mj5ca3QPLaC7i_muPmLPQc4TttMHYXCuyWrLSBNft5ypb8Hil9tLZdbB06IIg/s944/Ornament%20blue%20complete.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="944" data-original-width="636" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW5sJAY5jLraYSpvM70F0oF5DaWjpy53Cz7nl5KUMMYclktKsXP2RimzR5N9-XkTHxhuzpU0znDKEdKaJE5LcnmeqH94l9veZGH4GoZLKN1TRtl-N2Q4LwCK5mj5ca3QPLaC7i_muPmLPQc4TttMHYXCuyWrLSBNft5ypb8Hil9tLZdbB06IIg/s320/Ornament%20blue%20complete.jpg" width="216" /></a></div><p>As you can tell, I knit them on the road - we took a weekend trip right before New Year's Eve. They knit up SO FAST. Well, compared to a normal sized sock, anyway.</p><p></p><p>The pattern was clear. It used what it called a <a href="https://hollybellknits.com/2022/06/06/how-to-knit-shadow-wrap-short-row-heel/">shadow heel </a>(which I've never heard of). The shadow heel used stitches called TWK (twin knit stitch) and TWP (twin pearl stitches). I did have an issue with these stitches - maybe it was the yarn or the needles, but there was some splitting of the yarn. Also, it was sometimes difficult to figure out (for me) how to create the stitch in the leg of the stitch directly below. Lots of transferring of stitches from one needle to the other. It did result in socks, though.</p><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMhL7aYx2YOwZrw36XoZm0Jgg8r3F3MRXFnkmJX5sAYptEdvVVC6DilXIU1C-pAgDce74aaKwXyLUyuiuy1uNik4w5IhzTpRyb2AS2KYIqqvzUUPkI3leGITy3XktZ0gQ93yy9Y2R4p13mt3pTFNVEVCiOsS-98U3ZnJj2YmZDBYwAsmVk45hu/s1694/Ornament%20green%20complete.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1694" data-original-width="1187" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMhL7aYx2YOwZrw36XoZm0Jgg8r3F3MRXFnkmJX5sAYptEdvVVC6DilXIU1C-pAgDce74aaKwXyLUyuiuy1uNik4w5IhzTpRyb2AS2KYIqqvzUUPkI3leGITy3XktZ0gQ93yy9Y2R4p13mt3pTFNVEVCiOsS-98U3ZnJj2YmZDBYwAsmVk45hu/s320/Ornament%20green%20complete.jpg" width="224" /></a></div><br /><p>The kit was designed to knit three socks, I think, but after I finished one of each color, it seemed like there was enough yarn to go again, so I did. This is black wool and a rainbow roving that I purchased (online - this is not souvenir yarn) to make thrummed mittens. Notice I wrote "to make." This is how the wool looked yesterday, and continues to look. It's lovely, but I haven't knit with it yet. I follow the Yarn Harlot on Patreon - which I very much enjoy. She did a knit along for these thrummed mittens. It sounded like fun, so I ordered the yarn from <a href="https://rivercityyarns.com/">River City Yarns </a>in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. (Note that River City Yarns is no longer selling yarn - looks like great classes, though). The black Yarn is River City Yarns Epic yarn. I purchased the roving from River City Yarns, but it is from <a href="https://fleeceartist.com/">Fleeceartist.com </a>. It is Merino Silver in the colorway Hibiscus. Their yarns look wonderful (as a browse the site) - seems like a great place to purchase yarn (not just roving). Will I ever knit the thrummed mittens? I don't know. </p><p>By the way, if you want to know what thrumming is, it is apparently a Canadian thing. You can learn <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrumming_(textiles)">more here.</a></p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-91943879831327445392023-12-07T11:12:00.005-05:002023-12-07T11:12:50.465-05:00Reflecting Pool Scarf<p> This is why it is helpful to maintain a blog. </p><p>I think this is the yarn I am currently using.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi27Mh5EBBgX02jkfUV1c7WRqRCJBJ-_Xfu_ySZRlJndpwI6kQBMXGXijChWh8sGbGnqWZIE61TjITiJxP3B0LSR5L5vAf3IXEG4Hdgiyny7GX1XFQi2RMCL0nOsErzuXZ8YsD7t5IB5vmf30AcF7Unaha9W-9WqyCLrL9eUct4Kf-poXrdSghS/s621/Yarn%20rios.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="466" data-original-width="621" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi27Mh5EBBgX02jkfUV1c7WRqRCJBJ-_Xfu_ySZRlJndpwI6kQBMXGXijChWh8sGbGnqWZIE61TjITiJxP3B0LSR5L5vAf3IXEG4Hdgiyny7GX1XFQi2RMCL0nOsErzuXZ8YsD7t5IB5vmf30AcF7Unaha9W-9WqyCLrL9eUct4Kf-poXrdSghS/s320/Yarn%20rios.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>You can see in the image (at least I included the tags in the picture) that this is <a href="https://www.simplysockyarn.com/malabrigo-rios/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA98WrBhAYEiwA2WvhOoDyqX-ODPhrslERm1RoAH56gCmZm5_VYQDvmkUoOolDEM8hF-bsDxoCPrYQAvD_BwE&page=1">Malabrigo Rios</a> yarn in the color Reflecting Pool. Do I know where it came from? I do not. I can't remember, and that is a shame, because purchasing location is part of what makes souvenir yarn an actual souvenir. Maybe it came from <a href="https://www.kcyarncompany.com/">Kanawha City Yarn Company</a> - that is my "local yarn store" (an hour from my home), and they do sell Malabrigo yarn. </p><p>I am knitting it now, and I am almost done with the - you guessed it - scarf. It's the Yarn Harlot's "pattern" - rows of stitches divisible by 4 + 2, then knit, knit, knit in back loop, purl. Knit two at the end. Great, useful scarf pattern that I love. I'll have to check to see the needle size. I should do that before I bind off.</p><p>It's been knit mainly in movie theaters, and is almost complete.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiveOU60V_kaTivWFBn9bQOVY8o5iMxSDzayiTM-kWVhEmtzbkso3_Sa1iTrd2YoBhCFki_f5sv7LY4_WaCEqOVt48_aWy65VfSPpFCZv5UcMQCT9qEAviczFsDz7PNMhx27EehIJEgNfbBGTnzLYYDKLwBeN9JcjjjbrmQ2_vHYo2_W-_gz9pi/s466/Knitting%20blue%20yarn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="466" data-original-width="349" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiveOU60V_kaTivWFBn9bQOVY8o5iMxSDzayiTM-kWVhEmtzbkso3_Sa1iTrd2YoBhCFki_f5sv7LY4_WaCEqOVt48_aWy65VfSPpFCZv5UcMQCT9qEAviczFsDz7PNMhx27EehIJEgNfbBGTnzLYYDKLwBeN9JcjjjbrmQ2_vHYo2_W-_gz9pi/s320/Knitting%20blue%20yarn.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-69708820244084927062023-11-26T20:50:00.001-05:002023-11-26T20:50:49.812-05:00Stacking Cowl, Complete<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Yes, it has been a long time since I posted on this blog. I have good intentions, but don't follow through. But one of my goals this year was to restart this blog. It's late in the year for the goal, but it is still 2023, so I think it counts. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Let's set the goal at two posts per month (or more) and see how I do. It's soft and cooshy, and promises (I hear it whispering to me) to let me use a larger needle than I am with the stacked cowl, and to let me knit mindlessly. I can't wait.<p></p><p>The yarn is from <a href="https://www.kcyarncompany.com/">Kanawha City Yarn Company</a>. If you are in this area, I highly recommend it! </p><p>And then - it gets a little fuzzy. They were kind enough at the yarn store to wind the yarn for me. Don't you love that. I'm certain she gave me the tags, but I don't know what happened to them, so I am uncertain what this yarn is. </p><p>I think - because I found this tag in the room where the yarn was - that it is <a href="https://quinceandco.com/products/osprey-yarn-wool">Quince and Co, Osprey, in the color Aleutian</a>. (For my future self, it's color 148, lot 006. I bought two skeins of 170 yards each). When I go to the website of the yarn, its description is just what I would expect - Aran weight, soft, cooshy, wool. The color is a little different, and that is the only part that is giving me pause. So, I plan to ignore my uncertainty and go with the tag I found.</p><p>This yarn is destined for a nice, easy, knit in the dark and don't worry about stacking, scarf.</p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-15015263552957796802021-12-21T15:18:00.002-05:002021-12-21T15:18:00.188-05:00Bullet Journal Spread: Christmas Gift Log<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiyZgB5RaZ-XP2icWkc1HzAZWCg9vwdCN3c4ForEG3D9hRuwSzonKPf1BHHMxj42zhUxDwcWd1A8I5km5LoOGwAyYE6LKq4kbuhaRql9dG8VuACCRJYELbPXhbVMaEOxLQ72E-48Ijg03UqZ3EVp4zAuTAeOwNzkuzqtckqqY6vLVzbr1-KUw=s772" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="772" data-original-width="572" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiyZgB5RaZ-XP2icWkc1HzAZWCg9vwdCN3c4ForEG3D9hRuwSzonKPf1BHHMxj42zhUxDwcWd1A8I5km5LoOGwAyYE6LKq4kbuhaRql9dG8VuACCRJYELbPXhbVMaEOxLQ72E-48Ijg03UqZ3EVp4zAuTAeOwNzkuzqtckqqY6vLVzbr1-KUw=w296-h400" width="296" /></a></div><p>Each year I create a bullet journal spread to track the gifts we plan to buy to do buy for our family members and friends. I like the yarn; I love the colors. I will be so glad when this is finished. This stacking goal - so that the colors stack - is driving me a little nutty. I am just too attached to the idea that the colors will stack, so each row I end up "adjusting" so that they stack a little better. My goal is just that the lime green stack. Everything else is close enough in color that if the lime green would stack, all would be aligned. I have gotten too used to the "mindless" knitting of scarves. When I knit, I just want to knit. I am so ready to not be worrying about the stacking,</p><p>It's the first cowl I've made. I'm anxious to see how it turns out. This is an image of my bullet journal stack taken in December of 2018. I know that, because I started bullet journaling in 2017, and I use two books a year. The upright one is the one that I bought to start using in January of 2019, and I was sitting in our living room, at the end of 2018, setting up the next book.<p></p><p>I had all of my books out yesterday morning, and now the stack has 10 blue books in it. It's much taller, and it still tilts in one direction - I often decorate a page with a strip of washi tape - usually at the bottom of the page. So the stack tilts.</p><p>One of the potential advantages of bullet journaling is that you design your planner. It all starts with a blank page. That's great for what I use it for - for journaling at home. I tried a bullet journal at work once - it didn't last even a full month. I need the structure of a pre-printed planner for work. </p><p> As I think about my journals, I'm still working out the best structure - or more accurately, I'm continually evaluating what will work for me right now. These are my current questions:</p><p></p><ol style="text-align: left;"><li>Tracking - I currently track 12 habits. Is it work it? Is there a better way to do it? I'm still exploring.</li><li>Reflections - Each month I write a page of reflections - what happened in the world and in our lives that month. Is this helpful to me? I procrastinate doing it (currently, I still need to write pages for August and September, and I just wrote July's page yesterday). Every time I think I'll stop, I don't.</li><li>Doodling - I doodle sometimes in my journal. Other times I use stickers to decorate. I like the doodles, but after doing it a month or so, I fall behind, and have to doodle the whole month at once. Stickers are definitely easier. My answer to this conundrum is to do what I want. ;-)</li><li>Gratitude - I keep a page for each month where I write a line for each day expressing gratitude. I like it - I think it is a good practice. My question - do I invest enough thought in what I write? Probably not.</li><li>Tracking church work - I volunteer at my church to handle communications. I keep - or I have kept - that information in a separate planner. I wonder if I keep use the bullet journal to track this work. I may give that a go.</li></ol><div><br /></div><p></p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-60507307063975078352021-09-28T21:43:00.001-04:002021-09-28T21:43:00.207-04:00Gelprint cardsAll eight of the following cards were made using gelprint. it was my first attempt - very fun. I've never followed anyone on Patreon, but decided to subscribe to her feed. It's been a great decision - I've learned lots about knitting.</p><p>One of the projects she created for us to knit "along" was a stacked cowl. I'm not going to say much about it - the pattern, etc - because Patreon is a paid site, and I don't want to betray that. But the yarn I'm using is from <a href="https://rivercityyarns.com/">River City Yarns in Edmonton, Canada</a>. It's called Eden. It's a light worsted (or so it says - I'm not sure it's that heavy. It is knit in a cowl in a certain way Stephanie teaches that allows the hand-dyed colors to stack. Mine is the Galilea colorway - lots of blues and greens. I'm knitting it a small needle - maybe a 5? I'll have to check.</p><p>Of course, I made a mistake, and it was too far back to Tink, so I had to take it of the needles to fix it - all while riding on a train, which was fun.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirf2aqNwN8Kajh6Oj6II1Kyw-18id7FRvcLb0LH8llTVOSMLRdCJ2CiLFFF12UyGQ-xqzQcPNYJVSNdutiySPP8LjSn-Bw3LAgP1S2nmoPvkm6CUPpMjLug_ZHuHJbcBf-V8M6/s1008/Stacked+Cowl+off+needles.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirf2aqNwN8Kajh6Oj6II1Kyw-18id7FRvcLb0LH8llTVOSMLRdCJ2CiLFFF12UyGQ-xqzQcPNYJVSNdutiySPP8LjSn-Bw3LAgP1S2nmoPvkm6CUPpMjLug_ZHuHJbcBf-V8M6/s320/Stacked+Cowl+off+needles.png" width="240" /></i></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>The Project off the needles - scary</i></td></tr></tbody></table><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9ZPfa-0NZoU-N36YMYiWxR4KfFiYo8l69ORQCxxQQGDYfJ4do0DeY8WrNjSbJRErconZJxd7CAMFhdzlurF9GpVVkczIVpARZPzRvU5ab3jiFrDnSjZQtPna6S6yPT7CUUMUw/s1008/Stacked+cowl+yarn.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9ZPfa-0NZoU-N36YMYiWxR4KfFiYo8l69ORQCxxQQGDYfJ4do0DeY8WrNjSbJRErconZJxd7CAMFhdzlurF9GpVVkczIVpARZPzRvU5ab3jiFrDnSjZQtPna6S6yPT7CUUMUw/s320/Stacked+cowl+yarn.png" width="240" /></i></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>The yarn, and the train window</i></td></tr></tbody></table><p><br /></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKTg_GwiesQVpkZA2dpTTz0SdoWqKGjHK63KsJLnvt5gPFCSRr4GoNJIwTHrg5scLWA0PfcHO83WpYOInha-SVZpH4edu0nybWEY76uwfq4ToowH4ug4BEBLSIdVxGpog1v1rT/s1008/Stacked+Cowl+in+train+window.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="756" data-original-width="1008" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKTg_GwiesQVpkZA2dpTTz0SdoWqKGjHK63KsJLnvt5gPFCSRr4GoNJIwTHrg5scLWA0PfcHO83WpYOInha-SVZpH4edu0nybWEY76uwfq4ToowH4ug4BEBLSIdVxGpog1v1rT/s320/Stacked+Cowl+in+train+window.png" width="320" /></i></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>Project in train window - check out those tiny needles</i></td></tr></tbody></table><br />Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-87991116126998467742021-09-12T15:33:00.002-04:002021-09-14T20:49:35.088-04:00Bullet Journal Palette for September<p> </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_rUBl292WaHyr0jjWCbYeDk96FvhmFOVJf0X304n6NpsjBgiXrFbgZzRqfrPaNbU7A9OkD_sh6TK2CxSHtrszGw5hiAnvZaifbNJTfKudyKuNBewAPK-5d5OuAoO96vjNNsaa/s1008/Bullet+Journal+Sept+2021+pallet.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_rUBl292WaHyr0jjWCbYeDk96FvhmFOVJf0X304n6NpsjBgiXrFbgZzRqfrPaNbU7A9OkD_sh6TK2CxSHtrszGw5hiAnvZaifbNJTfKudyKuNBewAPK-5d5OuAoO96vjNNsaa/w300-h400/Bullet+Journal+Sept+2021+pallet.png" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />The palette for September includes Tombows 991, 946, and 899</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p></p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-11944483625243214492021-09-05T15:15:00.006-04:002021-09-05T15:15:48.488-04:00September Bullet Journal - Monthly pages<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The following two images are from my monthly setup for my September bullet journal. One clear morning, he found himself on a shelf in what he later learned was a gift shop at Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The trek there had been long and arduous, and he had felt a little sick and a whole lot scared.. He had been packed in boxes with other bears - big ones that elbowed him out of the way, and small ones that were as frightened as he was. When his box was unceremoniously dropped on the floor, he quickly ducked his head to avoid the sharp box opener that ripped through the tape keeping the box closed. The young college-aged clerk grabbed handfuls of his companions and pulled them out of the box - he kept doing that until it was finally the bear's turn to be lifted up and dumped on a shelf with the other stuffed animals. What would happen next? Is this where he would be forever?<p></p><span><div><br /></div><div>Later that day, a very tall man and a short woman with dark hair walked by his shelf. They stopped and looked at all of the stuffed animals. He knew he wasn't very special, that he looked just like the other small bears, but he liked these two people, and he hoped they noticed him. Amazingly, the woman picked him up. "Isn't he cute?: she told the man. The bear's heart dropped when she sat him gently back on the shelf, and walked away. He didn't know why, but he felt his heart break a little. "Come back!" he thought.</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaQZ9tlv2787l9X2yctp8NolEfc1xjlmAGlQBO9XPrkqQuvI4b7hXxvPxyZcrhlWzgvjwrUGMXtX-Eka9X3WFjJTtsDles1lGOU6v8O2uVkBwtfue0ZENb6QQgYWRaEC65sX7b/s806/Parker+map.png" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="605" data-original-width="806" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaQZ9tlv2787l9X2yctp8NolEfc1xjlmAGlQBO9XPrkqQuvI4b7hXxvPxyZcrhlWzgvjwrUGMXtX-Eka9X3WFjJTtsDles1lGOU6v8O2uVkBwtfue0ZENb6QQgYWRaEC65sX7b/s320/Parker+map.png" width="320" /></a></div><br />And then they did. The woman picked him up again, and said, "Let's get him. We'll take him with us, and take pictures with him in the park..</div><div><br /></div><div>"Sounds good," said the man.</div><div><br /></div><div>"Do you like this one?" she asked. Please, please please like me! the bear thought.</div><div><br /></div><div>"Yes, he has personality." The bear's heart leapt. He had personality! There was sunshine, and shadows, Everything was green and beautiful. That very day, he stood on the Appalachian Trail, he climbed a mountain, and he saw a hotel room for the first time ever. He sat with the couple by the pool that evening, while the woman colored what she called card fronts, and the man listened to music. They talked to each other, and seemed to be very close. </div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjRXj1kfwqa7IOhk9zLS2i65-D2UGMmsaWRWsZvMwPytl829T0r0uBrsUTs53fsIXPLbz-mfKD1XIVULEhIr96PwIILo3mG3gkseum7WlQwA7RcarFssa0ySKp1hWHjvbU3ZVX/s2048/IMG_0031.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjRXj1kfwqa7IOhk9zLS2i65-D2UGMmsaWRWsZvMwPytl829T0r0uBrsUTs53fsIXPLbz-mfKD1XIVULEhIr96PwIILo3mG3gkseum7WlQwA7RcarFssa0ySKp1hWHjvbU3ZVX/s320/IMG_0031.jpg" /></a></div>He found out as he listened to them, that their names were Steve (the tall one) and Kim (the short one). A day or two before, they had been at the beach, but had had to leave quickly because a hurricane was coming to shore. He didn't know what that was, but it sounded large and mean. They had been disappointed to "lose their beach vacation" as Kim said, but he was happy they had. He had been adopted!</div><div><br /></div><div><br />In the couple of years after that momentous day, he had traveled with them everywhere, and he was in countless pictures. He saw more of Tennessee, a whole lot of West Virginia, lighthouses in Ohio. He flew on a plane to Orlando, and got to see where Mickey Mouse lives. He went to a place called Tuscaloosa several times, and learned to say "Roll Tide!" with Steve. A time came when there wasn't much travel, but he still went with Kim and Steve to what they called State Parks on day trips, walking on beautiful paths with them. One summer, he road in a caravan of cars to move their son Josh to a place called Henderson. Along they way, he saw mountains, deserts, prairies, windmills and fields. He got to ride in the moving van with Steve, and in the regular van with Kim. A cat named Percy, who seemed nicer than the cat who lived in their house (Sprocket) came with them on the long journey. The next year, he road in another caravan, moving their other son, Grant, to Lexington. It was a shorter trip, but just as exciting (this time with two cats). <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhenpOvfCuNgdXBxJQn5oIO1FIPstE6y5t3kbl-9b8TC-ij9pNOatCMddl9biCHJ_zLRUo55MgErIkuKiu1CS5YmEKVV9ZmrGf_XpfT6u18yKd9JV6GIaR8sPnm31RYcZ-Hq5TG/s806/Parker+at+North+bend.png" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="806" data-original-width="605" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhenpOvfCuNgdXBxJQn5oIO1FIPstE6y5t3kbl-9b8TC-ij9pNOatCMddl9biCHJ_zLRUo55MgErIkuKiu1CS5YmEKVV9ZmrGf_XpfT6u18yKd9JV6GIaR8sPnm31RYcZ-Hq5TG/s320/Parker+at+North+bend.png" /></a></div></div><div><br /></div><div>When they were home, he lived in a tree - he was pretty sure it wasn't a real tree - high in the air. He helped them when they were a little sad because, they said, he reminded them to have fun. He hadn't felt special at all on the day he met them, but now he had a name, he had personality, and went with them almost everywhere they traveled. He even liked the cat from a distance. He was home and loved. He was Parker the Bear.</div></span>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-91456329037469062792021-03-28T17:22:00.003-04:002021-03-28T17:22:00.269-04:00Color Palettes for Bullet Journal<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPRzdJHDj_4HcLdbOMypTeTFuFjD4FrEJMgdE2YeAyud2Qkw5ag1EU_-itR1Zc9S6ulTLbgjjnSBEQW-Qc6iMCvVn3kNS0-hL7GWjXg9PaWKAvxaXxBHBKFQWBHu-Cc5vf3do5/s1008/January+2021+pens.png" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPRzdJHDj_4HcLdbOMypTeTFuFjD4FrEJMgdE2YeAyud2Qkw5ag1EU_-itR1Zc9S6ulTLbgjjnSBEQW-Qc6iMCvVn3kNS0-hL7GWjXg9PaWKAvxaXxBHBKFQWBHu-Cc5vf3do5/s320/January+2021+pens.png" /></a></div>For each month in my bullet journal, I select a color palette. I pull pens I will do headers with - usually <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CNYZ35C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ">Staedtler triplus fineliners</a>, but sometimes also a fountain pen with appropriately colored ink. I pull a selection of <a href="https://www.tombowusa.com/markers/dual-brush-pens.html">Tombow dual brush markers</a>, as well. Those join my <a href="https://www.jetpens.com/search?q=delde&v=2">Delde pen pouch</a>, along with the pens and equipment I use every month in my journal. Here are images of January's pens and March's pens. I think I got so tired of pink and red, that I didn't photograph February's. </div><div><br /></div><div><b><u>January</u></b></div><div>January was a deep green with lighter aquas. The Tombows were 291, 346, and 403. I used a fountain pen with <a href="https://www.gouletpens.com/products/de-atramentis-petrol-bottled-ink?variant=11884635062315">De Atramentis Petrol</a> along with a couple of green Staedtlers.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b><u>February</u></b></div><div>I stuck with reds and pinks for this month, but leaned heavily on the pinks. I'm not sure why - except that it means spring, daffodils, and relief from winter. Plus, we have some Irish heritage, so it seems fitting. And because of all of that, I like to make St. Patrick's Day cards - not many - just a total of five. </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3H_TLwwwNoaHISV3_7Ig07ypbaZ0QUJRc-kdDH_l_a0XXif3KdOYMR9VDadBb5EaFY5_vu-Wv3Jfwv_UXbRaMMjZA75r0iqAQZrG-W89_u87mU_WJlPletUiY0ClygRtwCVcn/s1210/St+Patrick+Grant+Josh+031721.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1210" data-original-width="907" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3H_TLwwwNoaHISV3_7Ig07ypbaZ0QUJRc-kdDH_l_a0XXif3KdOYMR9VDadBb5EaFY5_vu-Wv3Jfwv_UXbRaMMjZA75r0iqAQZrG-W89_u87mU_WJlPletUiY0ClygRtwCVcn/w300-h400/St+Patrick+Grant+Josh+031721.png" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>Two of this one...</i></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCgaW0wbfzMsaE18I8zX6vlnxC28WRBd91tEDOf1SnuhA7cJ9wr-s0YesMmMlpyXdXGGV5KyDmTeH3kLajhXOzJaPtCH51AxkRPSh-vAGelVGLyA6gyc1rGxr9niA3-eQmsz8F/s1008/St+Patrick+Mom+Steve+031721.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCgaW0wbfzMsaE18I8zX6vlnxC28WRBd91tEDOf1SnuhA7cJ9wr-s0YesMmMlpyXdXGGV5KyDmTeH3kLajhXOzJaPtCH51AxkRPSh-vAGelVGLyA6gyc1rGxr9niA3-eQmsz8F/w300-h400/St+Patrick+Mom+Steve+031721.png" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>Two of this one...</i></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiizqe30HAxD-5yMYco5yRhZKQBVE3_-q_cfpQy4SDGBltBVRvK0wl4QfZ5Kx3liDL1g72XDPyJmd2RBs8LroT5-5zm0BLl_dVnEKidcbSnBM1-xNxLLX1zCpISEqtRiU-6iN2/s1077/St+Patrick+taylors+031721.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="1077" data-original-width="819" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiizqe30HAxD-5yMYco5yRhZKQBVE3_-q_cfpQy4SDGBltBVRvK0wl4QfZ5Kx3liDL1g72XDPyJmd2RBs8LroT5-5zm0BLl_dVnEKidcbSnBM1-xNxLLX1zCpISEqtRiU-6iN2/w304-h400/St+Patrick+taylors+031721.png" width="304" /></i></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>And one of this one, similar to the first one, but with a different sentiment.</i></td></tr></tbody></table><br />The stamp set used was<a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/4-leaf-clover-by-anita-jeram-colorado-craft-company-clear-stamps/"> this one.</a> It's by Colorado Craft Company, called 4 Leaf Clover. The illustrator is <a href="https://anitajeram.com/">Anita Jeram</a>. She's a children's book illustrator. It's the second set like this I've purchased, and I'm loving the cards I make with them. I usually use washi tape and stickers - and I did go back to that in December, but October and November were all doodles. </p><p>I picked up on that habit in the 2021 bullet journal. So far, for January, February, and March, it's been doodles all the way. I have also added a cover page to each month - I've never used a cover page before. These are designed with a large doodle and a quote. They are inspired by doodles I see on the internet (so know that). </p><p>I can't draw, but I enjoy this.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc14Hk8iswiPY5Y_u9zNSfhSg0s4OGKtvdmqhAT0Ufno5dnNuQsmxc2pV4l7NYWGs2zlVnN_JuGTqoApRH9jhoFIOsjET5v-NXf37LgGl19P183ONw9vtoMQeNH7aOgGYeuHkr/s1210/January+Cover+Page.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1210" data-original-width="907" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc14Hk8iswiPY5Y_u9zNSfhSg0s4OGKtvdmqhAT0Ufno5dnNuQsmxc2pV4l7NYWGs2zlVnN_JuGTqoApRH9jhoFIOsjET5v-NXf37LgGl19P183ONw9vtoMQeNH7aOgGYeuHkr/w300-h400/January+Cover+Page.png" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOerkX7h6outhTg90aG5ttFF2Uqy01r35brYS9iq8fWxN74Eiq9ukFRNikujxO_LpMS0yzpS1TjHtU__XVlQ1HmEK2U_dHtEnR66q97HBmfHmW3M_HVAS2NCeRPRP3jK6E5OPp/s1210/February+Cover+Page.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1210" data-original-width="907" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOerkX7h6outhTg90aG5ttFF2Uqy01r35brYS9iq8fWxN74Eiq9ukFRNikujxO_LpMS0yzpS1TjHtU__XVlQ1HmEK2U_dHtEnR66q97HBmfHmW3M_HVAS2NCeRPRP3jK6E5OPp/w300-h400/February+Cover+Page.png" width="300" /></a></div><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX95FQpqo6X1z8ThuKFdUHiRB1REsCots6EOQJspAYLVsfvosVyVjkPAe-VxYPT3NFtDtCqfiE0yIgpyfCcBx58SOMeM2y-OCHScqbTygqWkuSQRtnTE03BU6vjKDvcfGHWPHw/s1210/March+Cover+Page.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1210" data-original-width="907" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX95FQpqo6X1z8ThuKFdUHiRB1REsCots6EOQJspAYLVsfvosVyVjkPAe-VxYPT3NFtDtCqfiE0yIgpyfCcBx58SOMeM2y-OCHScqbTygqWkuSQRtnTE03BU6vjKDvcfGHWPHw/w300-h400/March+Cover+Page.png" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10530753.post-14523310861488300592021-02-22T22:12:00.001-05:002021-02-22T22:12:04.346-05:00Christmas Tags<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwd7cZcBuXzM62fUm8x7d2eE5ThYUtuYIzXUbf_TOXt-xcyDczBQyzhs1C5EoX6uy8sb1T4DP-cKdZtLKrh8WUTDv_m3aXsmSWJ-jtLhKVke1qDR271jWBslkqO7BLV3pxGhZp/s2048/Christmas+tags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwd7cZcBuXzM62fUm8x7d2eE5ThYUtuYIzXUbf_TOXt-xcyDczBQyzhs1C5EoX6uy8sb1T4DP-cKdZtLKrh8WUTDv_m3aXsmSWJ-jtLhKVke1qDR271jWBslkqO7BLV3pxGhZp/w400-h300/Christmas+tags.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div>For many Christmases, we have been using hand-made tags on our gifts. Steve, the boys, and my mom always return their tags to me, and I use them again and again. Still, I do run out of them eventually, so every few years, I make more. This year I added 22 more to our tin of tags (the image is missing one) I'll be happy about it next Christmas.</div>Kimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06870239809531959096noreply@blogger.com0
